Garlic is one food that everybody should be eating as much of as possible. Garlic contains allicin, which is an organosulphur, which are compounds that our bodies need. They have been linked with reducing inflammation and oxidation stresses on our bodies. It contains a wide range of vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, garlic can act as an antibiotic and anti fungal agent.
As well as being a potential antioxidant/anti-inflmmatory/anti-fungal/antibiotic, garlic may also help with blood pressure and reducing blood clots.
Well good to know it has an anti fungal effect. So no longer medicines needed to treat fungal infections ?
Well not quite, as with anything natural it should be part of a holistic ‘good lifestyle’. I doubt it would ever be as powerful as prescription drugs etc in its natural form, but there are many compounds in nature that are highly potent, the allicin within garlic certainly seems to be one of those ‘super compounds’.
